Why You Worry More Than You Should

Some students find it hard to find certain acupressure points! But it really is not! Plus: you probably worry more than required!

First of all, note that Shonishin does not require the skill-set of a professional Acupuncturist. Acupuncturists work with needles which are super-thin. So they need to work very precisely to hit the right acupressure points.

But we don't! The area under the Shonishin tool (or a blunt pen) is much broader than super-thin acupuncture needles. This leaves us more room for errors.

So what about Ear Seeds then? They are much smaller than the Shonishin tool (or a blunt pen)!

True! But here is another thing that you need to know: In our case, we do not apply Shonishin or Ear Seeds to grown ups, but to children. Meridians in children, along which we can find acupressure points, and - in particular - meridians in babies are only just developing. This leaves us more room for errors as we do not have to hit the acupressure points with absolute accuracy!

By the way: this is the very reason why we will only offer courses which teach you treatments for children up to the age of 12 years.

And finally, note that, when it comes to Shonishin, there are many acupressure points which require tapping not only ON those particular points, but also on the area around it (which is indicated by the radius symbol that you can find in each lesson).

How To Find Acupressure Points

This is what we recommend to all of our students:

1. Watch the video which teaches you how to find the point on a real baby. Pay very close attention to the animation that is included in that video!

2. Then try to find the point on YOURSELF or your partner first! Sometimes, it is easier to find tendons, bones and muscles in grown ups than it is in kids and babies in particular.

3. Once you have found the point on yourself or your partner, it will be easier to find it on your child too!

4. Look for additional images that we have posted in the comment section of a particular lesson. That's because whenever students tell us that they have a hard time finding a certain acupressure point, we post additional comments and images to help them find it!

And finally, remember: we are always here to help!
